Fashion Meets Tech @ Nuvango

On Thursday October 29th, we’ll be migrating some of our Nuvango Studio staff a whole 20 minutes down the street to our Gallery & Goods location to talk technology, startups, fashion and manufacturing, as part of Startup Open House. This is the third year for this national event which offers an insider’s glimpse into the Canadian tech/entrepreneurship startup world. Last year we hosted at our manufacturing space in the Junction and this year we’re bringing the Junction to you!

Nuvango, previously GelaSkins, was founded in 2005 in Toronto as a tech-accessory startup. After 8 successful years in this realm, the company grew to include artist-designed fashion accessories and apparel, aiming to add art to all aspects of your life. The company is now back into full startup mode after relaunching a year ago as Nuvango, and has made notable strides to bridge the ‘fashion x art’ innovation gap by building out a vertically integrated, agile, boutique studio. We’re proud to put on every label that our garments are made right here in Toronto. Much like our tech accessory roots, all artist-designed products are manufactured with meticulous detail, by hand, by the Nuvango team.

Join us THIS Thursday (October 29th, 4-8pm) for Startup Open House and talk to the founders who have bootstrapped the company from the very beginning, meet our head of fashion design who brings technology applications to traditional garment manufacturing, or talk to the team who lays out the art, prints the imagery, cuts the fabric, and sews these pieces into your new favourite tshirt! We’re a company that takes pride in the fact that we’re a young, engaging, dynamic team building a business that revolutionizes and challenges traditional garment manufacturing practices.

Stop by our Gallery & Goods space at 639 Queen Street West, between 4 & 8pm, for a glimpse into the Nuvango world. If you’d like a studio tour, we’ll be running a studio open house to show off our manufacturing skills on November 11th. RSVP for a ‘Meet Your Makers’ tour here.

Special thanks to Toronto beverage start-up Station Cold Brew for providing the refreshing bevvies for our startup visitors. Read more about Station Cold Brew here. Learn more about the other amazing tech startups that are participating in this event–>here.
